A depth of knowledge about where and why plants thrive allows me to design a complete range of landscapes, from luxuriant perennial borders, cool shade gardens and orchards to bountiful vegetable gardens, and naturalized woodlands, wetlands, and meadows.
Working with top stonemasons in the business, I use stone to give form and function to an existing landscape and, where nature's gift is lacking or non-existent, to create natural transitions from the built environment to nature. My designs for courtyards, driveways, walls, terraces, walkways and water features are thoughtful, creative solutions posed by existing conditions and design criteria.
Wooden or metal features such as pergolas, gates, fencing and trellises perform transitions within a landscape or create outdoor 'rooms'. They can help a vegetable garden become part of a crafted landscape or they can provide a framework for a magnificent view. Similarly, outdoor art, exterior lighting and even garden furniture can help transform an outdoor space into a livable environment or visual experience.
Created water features can add kinetic energy to a landscape, whether it's a natural-looking stream, gurgling waterfall or tranquil pond. Swimming pools become a focal point and/or a destination, besides being a source for entertainment, sport and exercise.
